Developing a love of film in his high school years Alex has managed to turn mucking around making quirky commercials with his best friend’s dad’s new handy cam into a viable career.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Film and Screen Media from the Queensland College of Art’s Griffith Film School in 2009, Alex has filled the last six years working on numerous short films, documentaries and branded content. He has created a bunch high concept music videos for many Australian artists including Kate Miller-Heidke, Ball Park Music, Hungry Kids of Hungary and Emma Louise. In 2010 Alex’s documentary “Not A Willing Participant” won an ATOM award for Best Arts Documentary as well as Best Independent Documentary at the Warner Roadshow Studios Queensland New Filmmakers Awards, the film also saw a considerable amount of airtime with screenings on ABC, NITV and a 6 month feature on Qantas Inflight Entertainment.
Most recently Alex worked as a producer on the iconic feature film “The Turning“, Australia’s first omnibus film adapted from the book by Tim Winton and Executive Produced by Robert Connelly (The Boys, The Bank, Balibo). Continuously working to advance his craft, Alex has been a regular attendee of Australian and international screen markets including the Australian International Documentary Conference, SPA’s Screen Forever and The American Film Market. Alex strongly believes that screen media is nothing without a strong concept or script and an equally developed target audience and market strategy.
Alex has a strong interest in Art and behavioural sciences and gets his kicks from Baseball and street basketball!
